The Vietti Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne can be found up north in the small medieval village of Castiglione Falletto in the province of Asti where the Vietti winery is now being operated by the fourth generation of that family. Made from 100% Barbera grape, this wine has a stunning ruby/purple color that is accompanied by a ripe cherry aromas with hints of spice. A medium bodied red wine with refreshing acidity, this wine is well balanced with slight integration of oak, good complexity and a long, soft finish. While it can be paired with many pasta, chicken or pork dishes, this wine would shine with a traditional Coniglio alla Sarda.
