This wine represents a fuller-bodied version of this traditional wine for which this D’Abruzzo is known. It is made with the first selection of Montepulciano grapes from the vineayrds in addition to being aged in wood. The result of all this is a wine that is more robust and complex in style. Made from 100% Montepulciano grapes, this wine shows off a bright ruby color, with clean aromas of red berries and herbs. On the palate, the balsamic/peppery nuances temp the taste buds into wanting more and thus uncovering a hint of flint on the taste as well. All this eases into a finish that is long and pure and makes you realize what a truly lovely wine you are tasting. While very food friendly, you can always serve this wine with dishes traditional to Abruzzo such as Pallotte cacao e uova or Pasta alla pecorara.
