The Château de Roquefort Les Mûres is a red blend of Grenache, Carignan,and Syrah from vines that range 35 to 60 years on age The vines thrive in a mixture of chalky clay and rocky soil with numerous flinty inclusions. The slopes gently rise facing west/northwest enjoying the cool climate of the 360 altitude which helps produce generous yields. The wine first greets you with a rich, deep purple color. The sustained nose of red fruit is pristine and crisp on the palate, but the real enjoyment comes from the great elegance, purity and perfect tannins and the wine lingers in the mouth. This wine is meant for current drinking and would be perfect to enjoy with any casual summer meal that is centered around red meats.
